Campus Maps
Create and Publish Campus Maps
Build a campus plan on the web, choose point visibility, and publish changes for the team.
Create and maintain Campus Maps in the web app. Church Admins, Directors of Safety and Security and Campus Security Leads need the effective Manage Campus Maps permission and the appropriate campus access. Native apps provide published-map reading and saved references.
Create a building level
- Open Campus Maps, choose the campus and select New map.
- Enter the building and level names. Use the same building name to group its levels.
- Upload a PNG or JPG floor plan up to 4 MB, or a PDF up to 50 MB. For a PDF, preview the correct page and select Import page. Only that page is imported.
- Add points, routes and zones, then review the full plan.
- Select Publish map when the level is ready for readers.
Draft edits are not saved for a later browser session. Leaving with changes prompts you to keep editing or discard them. Draft uploads expire after an hour; reselect a file if the editor requests it.
Add useful points and visibility
Choose a point type and place it on the plan. Enter its name and any useful code, notes, radio channel or volunteer count. Use Visible to to select the role groups that need the point. New points default to church admins and security roles; include pastoral/ministry staff when appropriate. Readers also need page access.
Apply finishes the current edits within your draft. Publish map saves them for the team. Review placements after replacing a plan: changing its crop, rotation or layout can misalign existing points even when their relative coordinates are preserved.
Draw routes, zones and destinations
Choose Evacuation route or Zone / area and click the vertices. Finish with Enter or a double-click; Escape cancels an unfinished drawing. Use Placed items and the inspector to name and adjust shapes.
An evacuation route can link to a reunification point through Evacuates to, including a destination on another published level of the same campus. This link does not generate a walking path or move the route endpoint. Draw the approved route yourself and review the destination.
Evacuation routes use a green dashed line. The label can be hidden for a crowded route without hiding the route or removing its destination. Zone labels and colors help identify areas. Publish the visibility and label choices when finished.
Review and publish safely
Use Undo and Redo while editing. Discard returns to the opened or last-published version. The old published map remains available to readers until the replacement is published.
If another editor published after you opened the map, your save stops to protect their changes. Keep your draft open while reviewing the newer version in another tab, then reload and reapply the needed changes deliberately.
Review the map as a reader after publication, including point visibility and cross-level destinations. Previously downloaded or printed copies do not update automatically; tell the team when a changed plan requires a fresh copy.
Print or remove a level
Print pack and Download PDF include published levels for the selected campus; draft levels are excluded. The pack enforces role visibility and includes layers hidden in the on-screen view. Review its legend and tables before distribution.
Delete map removes that level, its points and shapes after confirmation and clears other levels' references to its reunification points. Review those dependencies before removing a level. Use a replacement publication for a revised plan you intend to keep.
