Open and Manage Training Materials

Read training PDFs and Word documents, save originals, and upload or remove files with the right access.

Training materials belong to a training event. Open the event in Trainings & Attendance on the web or Trainings in an updated iPhone or Android build. Access follows the event's church, campus and viewing permissions.

Read a material

  1. Expand the web training or open its details on your phone.
  2. Read the full Description and look under Training materials for uploaded files.
  3. Select the filename. A PDF opens with its document pages; a DOCX opens in a responsive reading view.
  4. Use the available page, zoom or Contents controls. Word headings, bookmarks and footnotes can provide navigation.
  5. Use the reader's original-download or save action if you need the original file and your church permits keeping a copy.

Web materials open in a new tab. Updated native apps open uploaded documents inside the app and use the phone's document-save controls for originals. A link in the description or a meeting/recording link may instead open its hosting service and require a separate login.

The DOCX reading view can differ from Word's exact page layout. Use the original when headers, footers, text boxes or precise pagination matter. Contact the organizer if essential content is missing. Uploaded training materials retain their original file; Procedures uses a separate conversion workflow.

Upload or remove materials

Authorized editors can manage files on the web and in Android builds that expose the controls. iPhone currently provides reading and original export; use the web for upload or removal.

  1. Save the training event first, then open Training materials.
  2. Choose a PDF or DOCX up to 4 MB. An event can hold up to 10 uploaded files.
  3. Wait for the upload to finish and the filename to appear. Open it to verify the result.
  4. To remove a file, use its removal control, review the confirmation and wait for success.

Cancelled and archived events retain materials for reading but disable material editing. Editors need authority over the event's full campus audience. If a failed upload offers retry, use that action and review the list before selecting the file again.

Material changes do not send a new training notice, reset RSVPs or record attendance. Tell attendees through your normal communication process if a changed file needs attention. Duplicating an event does not copy its uploaded attachments.

If a file will not open

Confirm the church, event access and connection. Refresh the material list: the organizer may have removed the file or your access may have changed. Update an older native build or try the web event. Do not assume that opening a document once makes it available offline. Share the filename and error with Support without sending the private document unless requested through an approved channel.
